Principles of air porters

Air from the blower escapes onto the floor through a sheet containing many small holes. This forms a film of air, enabling the easy transportation of heavy objects.
Unlike air bearings, air porters can be used on floors with gaps and steps.
Air porters also exhibit advantages on wooden floors and other weak floor surfaces because they support loads over a wide area.

Can be used on floors with gaps and steps

Air Porters can pass over paneled floors containing gaps or uneven surfaces. They also work over openings such as those in stage floors through which props and actors move.

Minimal stress on flooring

The load acting on the floor reaches a maximum of only 7 kN per square meter. As a result, the device can be used even on floors with low load capacities.

No scratching of floor

Air Porters leave absolutely no scratches or wheel marks on floor surfaces.

Only 12-mm thick

Air Porters measure only about 12 mm in thickness and require no special preparation of the bottom of the objects being transported.

Accommodates 100 V AC power

The blower’s auto-switching power supply can accommodate both 100 V and 200 V power. It requires no special electrical supply.

As little as 1/100th of the friction

The Air Porter reduces the friction coefficient to as little as 1/100th of its original value (on a standard floor surface), allowing several tons of seating to be moved by hand.

  1. Rearranging seating and the stage in a multipurpose auditorium to accommodate layouts for the variety of events that take place there, such as competitions and meetings
  2. Rearranging large theater props, seating, large televisions, and other large objects (use with underground storage)
  3. Placement and storage of tatami mats in a judo facility or multiple-sport auditorium for judo, kendo, and other events
  4. Moving and rotating exhibits at event venues
  5. Moving recreational equipment and seating in arenas and storing them in an underground facility when not in use

Air porter models

Choose an air porter according to the dimensions of the mounting frame and the weight of the object to be transported.
Contact us and we will recommend the optimum air porter configuration.

Sample specifications of the air porter are provided in the table below.
